With a Master of Business Administration degree from Ashland University, Marilyn applies proven business principles to her fight for workforce development. She’s committed to keeping Richland County’s economy strong.

As a wife and mother of two children, Marilyn understands that parents have a right to be involved in local schools. That’s why she sponsored legislation to give parents a choice and a voice in their child’s education, and fought for the Backpack Bill to ensure that funding follows students wherever they go.

As Executive Director of the Shelby Senior Center, Marilyn made sure local senior citizens had the care and attention they deserved to live full and enriching lives. At the Statehouse in Columbus, Marilyn has fought for infrastructure projects ensuring that mobility and access are guaranteed to everyone.

Now serving her second term as a Republican in the Ohio House of Representatives, Marilyn is a committed conservative fighting for workforce development, parental choice in education, strengthening the local infrastructure – including a much-needed bridge in the Village of Plymouth– and fighting to keep our tax dollars in Richland County.
In 2009, Marilyn was elected Mayor of the City of Shelby. In 2014, voters recognized her effective leadership and elected her a Richland County Commissioner.
Marilyn is a lifelong resident of Richland County. After graduating from Plymouth High School, Marilyn attended North Central State College, earning an Associate Degree in Business Management. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Marketing, and then a Master of Business Administration degree from Ashland University. While working on her MBA, Marilyn worked as a Commercial Lines Underwriter at the Shelby Insurance Company.
Marilyn and her husband, Kevin, have been married since 1995 and are the parents of two children. They attend Crossroads Community Church in Mansfield.
